I don't suggest that you fast for more than a few days, a week at most, because around then, your body goes into starvation mode and you won't be able to burn any fat. Here are some tips for fasting:

1. Try to stay away from food as much as possible
2. Fast on weekends. That way you can stay in your room all day, sleeping (or if you're a student, doing homework)
3. Make a list of things to do instead of eat
4. Youtube is your best friend
5. Google thinspiration
7. Start a short story
8. Find a new hobby (drawing, knitting, writing, ect.)
9. Go to the gym, or excersize on whatever machines you have at home
10. Start a pro ana site
11. Drink a lot of water
12. Tell anybody you live with that you...
-have a stomach ache
-aren't hungry
-are really busy and can't eat right now
-are going to eat later

1. Break your fast with one quarter of an apple
2. Eat only fruit and food low in calories and fat for the next week
3. Make sure to drink lots of water

Stay strong!

Fidgeting Tips

Fidgeting can burn an extra 500-800 calories a day. Here's a list I made of various fidgeting... Techniques? Anyway, if you think about it too much, it'll feel weird, so just try to make it natural. Think of ways you already fidget and try to make it more elaborate. For example, I often swing my right leg back and forth, so I could change that to swinging both legs in a circular motion. Just try not to look like you're having a seizure.

Ways to Fidget
1. Swing one or both legs back and forth
2. Twirl your hair
3. Suck in your stomach (do this for one hour each day, and in a week you'll go down one inch around your stomach)
4. Stand up
5. Bounce on your toes in place
6. Jiggle a leg or two
7. Sway from side to side
8. Tap your fingers on your knees
9. Clench your butt

The ways are endless, really!

BTW, did you know that singing burns about 4 calories per minute? This is almost as effective as jumping rope for an hour. Awesome, right? So if you sang for an hour, you'd burn about 240 calories.

Also, did you know that smelling bananas helps reduce hunger? I don't think this works for everyone... It just makes me want to eat a banana... ;)

Wintergirls (& ED Books)

Hey, everybody! So, right now I'm reading Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. It's a really good book about Anorexia, it's actually what triggered me. You should read it, it actually has some helpful tips... And if you're healthy, it can also make you want to quit Ana. :)

Another ED book I've read is Perfect by Natasha Friend. It's about bulimia (or Mia), but I think you should still read it.

I'll post more later.

Metabolism Calculator

I thought it might be useful to know how many calories you burn per day, so I found a website that has a calorie calculator...

Also, I suggest you look up BMI Calculator on the App Store. It will tell you your BMI (body mass index) and if you are obese, overweight, normal, or underweight.

Your Ana Notebook

I find it very helpful to create an Ana notebook or journal. How do you do that? Well, I'll tell you that.

So, get a notebook. What I find works best is a fairy thick spiral bound notebook. Don't decorate the front or write "Ana Notebook" on the front; leave the cover blank. Try to get a notebook in a neutral color. It shouldn't be bright or neon because then somebody could pick it up and be like, "Oh this looks interesting." I also suggest against black or dark purple. Those are just naturally mysterious colors that scream, "Read me!"

There are many different ways to do this, but I strongly suggest putting a calorie table in the back of your notebook. Either sort the foods alphabetically or by type (ex: fruits, cakes, vegetables, cany, meat, ect). On each page, have a 'food' column, a 'quantity' column, and a 'calories' column. Example:
Food                                               Quantity                   Calories
Apple                                              1 medium                 80
Carrots                                           1 oz.                         12

Put the date somewhere on each page... And it's pretty much up to you what you do with the rest. Write Ana tips and tricks, print out pictures of thinspiration and glue or tape them into your notebook... Anything. But, there's one more thing that you absolutely HAVE to do.

Keep a daily food log, to keep track of your calories for that day. Mine for today might look like this:
Late July Natural Cheese Crackers, 1 pack (130)
+ Subway sandwich, 1 quarter (250)
+ Banana, 1 whole (101)
481 calories, 3-18-13

Hiding Ana

So you're Ana... And nobody needs to know about it!!! They will try to "help" you, which means telling somebody else, which ultimately means getting locked up in a mental hospital. Let me tell you, most perfect people have never stepped foot in a mental hospital.
1) Tell your friends
2) Tell your parents
3) Tell your siblings
4) Tell your roomate, your landlord, your stuffed animals, heck, don't even tell your goldfish.
5) Say to anybody that you're going on a diet
6) Mention how fat you think you are to anybody else
7) Mention how beautiful you think skinny people are
8) Mention how ugly you think fat people are
9) Ask anybody "how many calories do you think are in this...?"
10) Make it obvious (wearing all black, going Goth, acting depressed)
11) Eat when you're alone

1) Keep Ana a secret
2) Always eat in front of other people so they can't say "why do you never eat anything?"
3) Always be the second person done. That way when people comment on you being done already, you can mention the person who was done first
4) Know the calories in what you're eating... If you don't know, put it down right now!
5) If you live with someone else, leave wrappers and dirty plates lying around so the other person will think you're always stuffing your face
6) Talk about how you think that curvy women are beautiful... even if you don't
7) Hide any Ana journals that you may have
8) If you're on a shared computer, learn how to delete your browser history. If the person you live with is good with technology, learn how to delete your temporary internet files, too
9) Always excersize in private. You've gotta make people think that you're just sitting around on your butt all the time

I know this girl, I'll call her M. Anyway, I saw M in the school hallway a few days ago and I had to do a double take. She was wearing smudged blue eyeshadow, a black motorcyle jacket, and black jeans, and she looked absolutely miserable. Her hair was thin and greasy and she's unhealthily thin. She never eats, so she's clearly Ana.

My point is that you don't want to be so obvious. Wear pastel colors, take vitamins, give your hair and skin special treatment, make sure your makeup is perfect, and keep up an active social life. Don't end up like M!

Starters Diet & Basic Tricks

So, how many calories, on average, do you eat in a day? 1500? 2000? More? Well, the goal here is to gradually lower your calorie intake until you are eating about 500 calories per day. Details below.
If you eat 2000 a day...
Day 1: 2000. Easy, right?
Day 2: 1900
Day 3: 1800
Day 4 :1700
Day 5: 1600
Day 6: 1500
Day 7: 1400
Day 8: 1300
Day 9: 1200
Day 10: 1100
Day 11: 1000
Day 12: 900
Day 13: 800
Day 14: 700
Day 15: 600
Day 16: 500
Day 17: 500

If you eat 1500 a day...
Day 1: 1500
Day 2: 1400
Day 3: 1300
Day 4: 1200
Day 5: 1100
Day 6: 1000
Day 7: 900
Day 8: 800
Day 9: 700
Day 10: 600
Day 11: 500
Day 12: 500

No matter what, remember to drink a glass of ice cold water every hour. If you don't know the calories in something, look it up before eating a bite. If you slip up and eat more than you should, don't feel bad about it. Unless you've been going 500 for a while. Then you should feel bad about it.

Also, I reccomend doing a fast once a week. Do this two weeks in a row, and then skip it one week and eat normally. Do the fast for two more weeks. Eat normally for one. Repeat.
Hope it helps!

Welcome to Pro Ana, Pro Perfect

Hello! Welcome to Pro Ana, Pro Perfect. Let me explain some things...

Anorexia is a dangerous disease, and I didn't make this website to glamorize Anorexia or lure healthy girls into the ways of Ana. If you are healthy or a recovering anorexic, please leave this site. If you aren't yet Ana and nothing I say can convince you, please research the symptoms of Anorexia before reading my blog. I am not responsible for anything for anything that may happen to you while living an Ana lifestyle.

So how exactly do you become an Ana girl? Well, it doesn't matter what you look like or how much you weigh. What matters is what you will soon look like and will soon weigh. Ana is the belief that not eating very much will make you loose weight (which it will). Thin is perfect... And you want to be perfect, don't you?

Another thing I'd like to clear up is that I am not perfect... yet. Whenever I read pro Ana sites, I automatically think that the poster or owner of the site is this perfect, beautiful, thin goddess. Well, in case you think that too, I'd like to tell you that I'm not actually thin yet. I'll be going through this with you. Email me at if you need help, tips, anything. I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.

Comment too, if you don't want to email me. I will delete any hate comments (ex: Are you nuts you are going to starve and kill yourself!!!).

One more thing. If you're at a healthy weight after I'm through with you :), please stop reading this blog. You don't need to do this. If you don't want to do that, I'll be making a post about how to stop being Ana, or how to be a less strict Ana.

Stay strong, my new Anas!
Love, Sarah
